Most women like high-end fashions and accessories, but how many are willing to 'go there'? Let's take a look at some of these trouble makers....
St.John Knits. Awwww, this line is awesome for comfort! Timeless, classic and chic. Has excellent 'Growing Room' and if you lose weight, these pieces can be easily 'blocked' to fit. This line can be found in Nieman Marcus, but just a word of warning.. you can also find these pieces online at http://www.ebay.com/ and http://www.prousses.com/ which is a resale store that's exclusively St.John Knits.
Hmm, where do I take you next, I know! I'll take you to the Carlisle Collection. This collection buys its fabrics at the FINEST mills. The designs are FAB, but the sticker shock can hurt.. This line is NOT sold in department stores and can only be purchased from consultants. Your Carlisle Consultant will keep you updated when the newest collections are released and what she thinks you will like. A 6-10 piece wardrobe by Carlisle could run around $2,500 - $3,200 easy. But just like St.John, you can plan on wearing these pieces FOR LIFE. Very well constructed, no fade, no loss of texture after dry cleaning.
Now we'll move over to the shoe department. My personal favorites are Ferragamo, Stuart Weitzman and Donald Pliner. When I'm seeking fashionable comfort I reach for Cole Haans with Nike Air Technology or Taryn Rose. When I'm shoe shopping, comfort overrides cost, so $100 bucks for flip flops is nothing if that's how I'm feeling.
One thing I can't stand are painful feet. One thing I never do is leave the store before walking around with BOTH shoes on, on carpet and off. I never hiss at the price of a comfortable, well constructed shoe.
